It was just over a year ago that plans for a 15-story condo building located at 27 East 79th Street were revealed. The five-story townhouse was purchased by developer Matthew Adell for $28 million in 2016 and it’s now being revamped into a mixed-use development with both commercial space along with eight residential units. Though the project is still in the works, sales have officially been launched for a few of its luxurious abodes.
HTO Architects is responsible for the building’s design while Parisian design firm Cabinet Alberto Pinto has been tapped for the interiors. Of the eight residences, three are up for grabs, including a full-floor apartment with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths that’s asking $5.25 million; a “townhouse” residence with a private garden for $11 million; and a five-bedroom, 5.5 bathroom duplex for $11.5 million.
The limestone exterior of the building will be accompanied by detailed iron grillwork along with a domed marquee that harks back to Parisian architectural styles of late 19th century.
As for the apartments, each design variation comes with its unique set of finishes. For instance, some of the duplexes will feature a custom designed fireplace while the townhouse apartments come with a formal dining room and a huge private outdoor space. Universal finishes include white oak flooring, high-end kitchens with Miele appliances, and floor-to-ceiling windows (some apartments have arched windows that are more intriguing than the standard offerings).
Move-ins are projected to begin around late 2018/early 2019.
