A camping we will go!
As summer transitions into autumn, it’s time to put the swimming suit away and pull the light jackets and sweaters out. It’s also the time of the year when the weather is just perfect for camping. Fortunately for Chicagoans, there are numerous state parks and nature preserves within a two-hour drive that offer fun outdoor recreational activities and campgrounds.
While the terrain in around Chicago are flat as a pancake, there are some great hiking and kayaking destinations nearby. Or perhaps you’d prefer to take in the scenery and snap some photos. No matter your activity of choice, these parks and reserves offer something for everyone. And as always, if you have a suggestion, please leave a comment on this post or hit up the tipline.
